Building and Distributing Comfort Kits for Individuals and Families in Transition

Location and Time:
Kits will be assembled on April 17, 2010 in Daytona Beach Florida
Activity/responsibility:
In partnership with other churches, community service organizations, and businesses. Our congregations in the Volusia/Flagler County area have committed to work with our partners to provide 3000 comfort packs for eight separate organizations, as well as several police departments, that help the homeless and struggling in our immediate area.
There will be four types of comfort packs provided: adult male, adult female, youth, and baby. Each will contain essential personal hygiene items and toiletries, a blanket, small pillow, wash cloth, towel. Youth packs may also contain a stuffed or homemade toy. The baby packs will also contain diapers. Each kit will come in a pillow case tied with a cord of a color to identify the gender or age for which it is appropriate. Each will have a card attached to the cord with a picture of the Savior, a simple message about the worth of each soul.
Tools or skills required:
No tools needed, Just good people.

Additional Notes:
There will be 2050 kits assembled. Those kits will be distributed to 8 different agencies throughout Volusia and Flagler counties. The main deliveries will take place April 24th, 2010
