Meet at 7:30 a.m. in Yulee at the old Hardee’s restaurant building near US 17 and A1A for assignments:

Activity/responsibility:

The Fernandina Beach Ward and Hilliard Branch are joining together with the Nassau County Council on Aging to make repairs on homes of clients.
The project will consist of “spring cleaning” projects at the homes of their clients, making small repairs both inside and outside, as well as cleaning up yards.
They will also be installing two wheelchair ramps.
They will be partnering with Ramp It Up (a group of REALTORS and builders that assist in installing wheelchair ramps for the elderly and disabled), Publix, Harris Teeter and Wal-Mart

There will be four projects going on simultaneously in Nassau County:
1)  A yard cleanup on a home in Yulee, which includes: tree and bush trimming, thinning out a wooded driveway to widen the access to the home, and cleaning up around the outside of the home.
2)  A 42’ ft long wheelchair ramp will be installed in Yulee.
3)  A wheelchair ramp will be installed at a home, and there will be yard clean up including removing tree limbs, LOTS of leaf raking, pressure washing, and cleaning the outside windows on the home
4)  A home in Hilliard will receive house painting and a yard cleanup.

Tools or skills required:

For the Yard Cleanup projects, we need: rakes, gloves, saws (including pole saws), hand pruners and the usual yard tools.
For the Wheelchair Ramp projects, we need:  post hole diggers, hammers, skill saws, nail guns and gneral construction tools.
