On Friday and Saturday, April 23 & 24, 2010, members went to the Hope Central location of Shepherd’s Way, a faith based charitable organization in downtown Ft Lauderdale.  On Friday, paint preparation was done and primer was sprayed on the walls.  On Saturday morning, members joined with people from Shepherd’s Way to paint the entire first floor of their building, which was equivalent to a stake center.  John Parker, a member of the Pembroke Pines Ward was in charge of the paint detail and the administrators at Shepherd’s Way were extremely impressed with our organization and work ethic.  They were thrilled with the job done by the members.  They were also very happy to receive 900 “Love Bags” a quick non-perishable meal and a pair of socks in a gallon size ziplock bag.  These will be distributed by Calvary Chapel (an affiliate of Shepherd’s Way) to the homeless throughout Broward County.
