On April 24, 2010, the Statesboro Ward provided three different projects. We served the Pineland Mental Health group homes by providing landscaping and light maintenance on some of their homes. Despite the heavy rain, we planted many flowers, washed windows, and cleaned up some yards. Many of our men worked hard to remove the debris from a large branch and rotted wheelchair ramp at one of the homes. Our youth linked arms with hundreds of other volunteers from Bulloch County to participate in the Keep Bulloch Beautiful clean-up project. The youth and senior primary children, along with their leaders, picked up trash along a well-used path that runs down the middle of our town. Despite the rain, they worked hard to leave the path spotless. Our Primary also coordinated a food drive which collected many cans and boxes of food from the ward members. The senior primary children helped sort and deliver the food before they joined the youth in cleaning the walking path. The Pineland Mental Health organization was appreciative of the efforts to keep their homes well maintained. Many residents of Bulloch County will benefit from our efforts with keeping Bulloch beautiful and the added food on the shelves of the Food Bank.
