Activity/responsibility:
For the past ten years, the Waycross First Ward and Waycross Second Ward have teamed together with the local chapter of Rebuilding Together. Each year, one or two homes are selected to receive total and extensive renovation at no cost to the owners.
The Waycross Wards have been very successful in building a bond of friendship and trust with this group, and feel it has truly been an opportunity to work with folks who are in the community, while benefitting those who are less fortunate than themselves.
The home(s) that are assigned will be their responsibility to carry out through a house captain. Several Brethren have volunteered their services to serve on the inspection committee that will be looking at ten potential candidate homes to receive repairs at no cost to the owner.
This is a great tool for the Saints in Waycross, and a wonderful opportunity for the members to rub shoulders with those from other denominations and people from all walks of life, all on a down-to-earth and face-to-face basis.
