Gastonia Ward’s day of service was held at Camp Sertoma in Dallas, NC. This camp was a diamond in the rough. We started at 7:30 am and ended up with almost 50 volunteers when we finished at 1:00 pm.  Camp Sertoma is a county-run camp but for 2 months in the summer it is a inspiring camp for handicap kids. There’s a .2 mile walking trail that volunteers helped to clear by removal of leaves and fallen trees and branches. Several brethren helped to build two picnic tables for added seating and four benches that were placed around the fire pit ring. Several volunteers helped by cleaning out the recreation hall and kitchen that we also painted along with two restrooms. It was a beautiful day with the sweet spirit there to guide us in our work.

Andrew Cran, Olga Kanouse and several others helped to remove debris from off the walking trail.

Greg Gallaway and Robles Chavarria helped to paint one of the two restrooms
