Ward members collaborated with the City of Shreveport in the annual city-sponsored Paint Your Heart Out Shreveport (PYHOS) project where the exterior of 37 homes owned by elderly or disabled citizens were painted and provided with outdoor beautification (e.g. mowing, edging, etc.). Church members painted 10 of the 37 homes. In addition, church members collected items for 72-hour Emergency Kits and each of the 37 homeowners was provided one of the kits. YM/YW in the Shreveport 2nd ward distributed flyers with information about Emergency Kits (importance of, components of, how to prepare one, etc.) to members of the community residing near the stake center and collected donations for the Emergency Kits provided to PYHOS homeowners.
