Influencers: HandsOn Northwest North Carolina (Amy Lytle, executive director) was instrumental in identifying the project for us and putting us in contact with Abby Bowman, director of volunteer services.

Members of the Winston-Salem Second Ward worked on outside projects at the House, including weeding, trimming shrubs, distributing new pine straw, cleaning porches, etc.

Influencers: The HandsOn Northwest North Carolina organization (Amy Lytle, executive director) was instrumental in helping us to identify this project and make contact with Linda Coleman, director of volunteers for the Children's Home

Members of the Tanglewood and High Point Wards and Salem Branch participated in the project to spruce up The Children’s Home. The group built a wooden boundary around a swing set, added mulch and painted the swing set. The group also did significant landscaping and maintenance work around various buildings on the campus.

Volunteers will do landscaping and general outside maintenance for the Children’s Home.
Tools or skills required:
Volunteers should bring their own gardening and lawn maintenance equipment if possible. Work gloves are advised.

Volunteers will be working outside, weeding, trimming shrubs, distributing new pine straw, cleaning porches and possibly putting down new mulch in some areas.
Tools or skills required:
The Ronald McDonald House will provide some yard tools, but volunteers are encouraged to bring their own as well.
