The children were dressed as angel and it was a fun filled event for both child and adult.  Funds were raised by sponsors and walkers to support the work of CAPA organization. Food was also gathered to feed the children in their shelter.  Walkers along the trail enjoyed water bottles and cupcakes as well as the overcast day.  The event was a success and plans are underway for next years event.

Angel Walk and Food Drive

Location and Time:

Registration begins at 8:00 AM at the Waterfront Park in downtown Beaufort.  The walk, jog, run, skip, hop or push for either a short or longer route begins at 9:00 AM, with the Angel Parade at 9:45 and an Angel Recognition Ceremony at 10:15.  Walkers are to raise a minimum of $100.  If it rains, bring an umbrella and a sunny spirit.  An Angel is defined as anyone, living or deceased who has made or continues to make a difference in your life.  Celebrate them while raising funds to support the “Angels” in the lives of the children of Beaufort County.  All living Angels will receive an invitation to attend the Angel Recognition Ceremony.

Activity/responsibility:

Our service for the Angel Walk will consist of loading and unloading supplies, baking refreshments for the walkers/runners, providing signs for the Walk, leading the Angel Parade, providing supervision at the children activities at the Park, as well as recruiting walkers and raising money.

Tools or skills required:

No tools required.  Children are invited to “create” their own set of wings from scratch and march in the parade or they may stop by the CAPA office at 714 14th St., Port Royal to pick up a cardboard template and show off their own “angelic style” in the parade.
