The Habersham Project
Name of Organization:
ECCO (East Cooper Community Outreach)
Location and Time:
The Habersham Project
Mt. Pleasant, SC
8am- 12pm
Activity/responsibility:
- Youth will be planting, trimming existing bushes, weeding, clean up and other yard work
- Adults and Primary children (8+) will also help with the yard work
- YW will provide some babysitting
- A few YW will spend an hour or so talking to Ms. Habersham and gathering facts to document her life’s story (suggested activity)
- Two ceiling fans to be replaced/repaired (den/guest br)
- Kitchen fan/light will be repaired
- Replace/repair kitchen sink/MBa faucet aerators
- Rod iron hand rail front /back of house needs to be secured to concrete
- Home & walkways need to be powerwashed
- Application of mildew/algaecide
- Painting of front porch rod iron railing
Tools or skills required:
Bring work gloves, comfortable working clothes, tools like rakes, bush trimmers, cleaning supplies, a smile and servant’s heart. The most important tool anyone can bring is the desire to bless the lives of others, for when “Ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God”. (Mosiah 2:17)

The Mt. Pleasant Ward is partnering with the East Cooper Community Outreach (ECCO) to help in relieving suffering, improve our community, and help those of our neighbors most affected by the economic recession. Our goal is to affect change in the lives we touch and to bring them Hope!
East Cooper Community Outreach (ECCO) is an ecumenical organization dedicated to helping our neighbors in need and providing emergency disaster relief. ECCO serves residents mainly in the area east of the Cooper River and south of the Santee Basin but also serves the entire tri-county area (Berkeley, Charleston, Dorchester) through cooperation with other organizations and agencies.
ECCO provides emergency assistance for food, clothing, household furnishings, and financial needs. As well as, ongoing services including medical, dental, prescription drug assistance, education and counseling.
All programs and services strive to guide clients toward self-sufficiency. ECCO’s ministry of “Neighbors Helping Neighbors” attempts to improve the quality of life in our community in a compassionate way that respects the dignity and worth of every person.

ECCO Reeves Project Mt. Pleasant

The Reeves Project
McClellanville, SC
8am- 12pm
Activity/responsibility:
- Replacement of 2 sets of steps ( current ones are rotten and unsafe)
- Need screen door missing-( procure one)
- Plumbing drain leak
- Need replacement stove/oven- 30” x 26 ½” (only two burners work in current stove)
- A/C wall unit needs wires repaired
- Trailer needs power washing
- Seal Roof ( roof leaking)
- Trim bushes and trees, rake leaves, misc clean up outside
- Paint leakage stains in bedroom/bath
- Light housekeeping
