The Rock Hill South Carolina Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located on Saluda Road participated with many local congregations of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and other faith-based and charity-based organizations around the Greater Charlotte Area sponsoring the Second Annual Day of Service. Many various and diverse service projects were organized and accomplished.
Saturday, April 24, over eighty members of the Rock Hill Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints met at eight o’clock at Historic Brattonsville. under the direction of Anita Feemster, supervisor of maintenance at Brattonsville, the work crew of Latter-day Saints trimmed and cleared approximately eight miles of walking, bicycling, and horse trails. Flower beds and walkways were weeded and edged, and repairs were made to the split rail fences.
The theme for the Second Annual Day of Service was “Building Relationships Through Service.” Those who participated in the Day of Service Project at Historic Brattonsville felt the spirit of kindness, hard work, friendship, and service. The members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Rock Hill South Carolina extend their thanks and appreciation to all those who so cordially received them at Historic Brattonsville and who allowed them to be of service to their community.

A 1.2-mile stretch of Church Road in Rock Hill, SC was cleaned as part of the Adopt-a-Highway program. 64 trash bags were filled in 2 hours.

Food donations will be delivered to the Catawba Meetinghouse of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1989 Reservation Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29704 beginning at 12noon on Saturday, April 24th
Activity/responsibility:
Individuals and families will be delivering and picking up collection bags in various surrounding neighborhoods. These donations will then be brought to the above-mentioned address to be delivered later in the day to the Children’s Attention Home shelter.

All ages are welcome, children under 12 should be accompanied by an adult

Brattonsville Historic Plantation

The members of the Rock Hill Ward will be serving at the Brattonsville Historic Plantation clearing trails and fence repair. This project is for families with older children.
Families with younger children will do a a cleanup and beautification the Rock Hill chapel.
