Lynn View Community Center

Lynn View Middle School

Location and Time:

Kick-off Meeting will begin at 8:30am with city officials, partners/sponsors and press.  A full workday will commence until 4-5pm, breaking for lunch.

Activity/responsibility:

The City of Kingsport has purchased the old Lynn View Middle School and we will be converting it into a new community center as a beginning of the revitalization of the Lynn Garden area. The projects that have been outlined for the day will include moving furniture and whiteboards, painting old classrooms, replacing windows, cleaning outside surrounding building, trash and leaf removal, and basic carpentry and repairs. We hope to link arms with as many organizations and faiths within our community that would like to assist us in this effort, as well as the general public and neighbors of the surrounding area.  If you or your organization would like to be a part of Day of Service 2010 for Kingsport, please contact us using the form below. Kingsport Warriors’ Path Boundless Playground

Warrior’s Path State Park

Location and Time:

Boundless Playground

Kingsport TN
Kick-off Meeting will be at 8:30am with Mayor Phillips, park officials, partners and sponsors, and press. We will work a full day until about 4-5pm, breaking for lunch. 

Activity/responsibility:

Darrell’s Dream “Boundless Playground” - A Place for all children of all abilities has been chosen for a Day of Service project this year.  We will be installing 2-5 tons of rubber mulch in play areas, landscaping mulch and gravel on walking trails.  We will also be doing general weeding, cleaning and possibly assisting in adding some additional features to the playground. We hope to link arms with as many organizations and faiths within our community that would like to assist us in this effort, as well as the general public.  If you or your organization would like to be a part of Day of Service 2010 for Kingsport, please contact us using the form below. Tools or skills required:

Please bring wheelbarrows, work gloves, shovels, rakes, leaf blowers and pressure washers all labeled clearly with your name.  We especially need wheelbarrows to haul mulch, sand and gravel.  Please do not park in lot adjacent to the playground, this will be used for unloading supplies only.  Please unload your tools at the playground entrance, park at the soccer fields and be at the kick-off by 8:30.  Thank you!
